a little song from one of the girls at the palm tree orphanage in phnom penh. spent an afternoon there on december 30th. truly magical. will return there on jan 6th to do some more shooting and will undoubtedly post more video when i can.
Looking at motion in extremes: hyper control and complete acceptance.
Hyper control (also referred to as micro-editing) looks at each individual motion of the camera or motion within the frame, often times neither a bump nor a nudge can be tolerated. The eye darts around the frame, following the rhythm of the cuts. (OUTSIDE)
Complete acceptance waits, allows each shot it’s moment, a revelation, a life within the frame. (INSIDE)
My process uses one to stimulate the other.
